Bush Larder Premier in London Toggle

Pictures from the recent Zuku London launch party for Tales from the Bush Larder. The event was hosted by Zuku, East Africa’s fasted growing satellite home entertainment network. Having created the concept of Bush Larder with Kenyan production company Quite Bright Films, we then partnered with Zuku to produce the full series.

The aim of this event was to showcase the fantastic quality of production that can be achieved locally in East Africa. It was attended by 120 people including food journalists, broadcasters and potential investors. Also in attendance were Hannelie Bekker, Mark Schneider and Richard Bell from Zuku and the Wananchi Group, Jo Mc Grath and Francesca Tauriello from Fox International and Amber Larre and Tom Whitworth from Quite Bright Films.

The guests were invited to enjoy a three course meal prepared by me, whilst viewing episodes from the show. I created quite a difficult menu using ingredients that are mainly unique to Kenya. It was a challenge to source these in the U.K. and to prepare them with an unfamiliar kitchen and team. It was however I am pleased to say a great success! The unusual dishes, such as Roasted Fillet of Ostrich with Black Pudding and Carpaccio of Cattle Hump were really enjoyed!

Altitude 360 was a fabulous venue with awesome views over London. The event was fully attended and the guests were genuinely surprised and impressed by the “world class” production that can be achieved locally in East Africa.
